ARTIST STATEMENT

My paintings convey an energy of color, form and space.  Inspired by nature,  I try to interpret my experience of landscape, flowers, foliage, sea, sky, and the human figure.  I use my own photography or memory of a moment to translate these inspirations onto canvas with oil paint.  Enjoying the process of watching the paint as I move it freely into abstract and figurative forms, each painting is entirely original and unique.  Always ready for a new canvas and a new experience to communicate something about the world around me that speaks in a soft or bold statement.
